Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in Raleigh with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in North Carolina may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 10 am–7 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (919) 809-8914. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, thebutchersmarkets.com.

Customers rate it 4.6 out of 5 on Google across 483 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded specialty food stores in Raleigh.

Raleigh is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Raleigh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

These people are the nicest and greets you warmly and always ready to help even if you ask silly questions. We are new the area and we usually buy meat from Desi stores but we are very much glad we walked by this store and they cut the meat properly as per what’s needed. The meat they gave us is very fresh and even their entire store has the best quality ingredients and the milk they sell is top quality. Very glad we walked by this store and will be visiting frequently. Thank you guys.

An excellent customer experience every time keeps us coming back several times a week. We have enjoyed the selection of meat, seafood, and veggies. The marinade options always let us change up our dinner plans. The real reason we enjoy the experience are the people. Kelly, Sholanda, and Donald easily share "what's great today" together with preparation successes. There is no other place like this in Wake county.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Butcher’s Market for a while now, and I want to start by saying I still love this place β€” the service, the selection, and the overall experience have kept me coming back. But I have to be honest: the quality has slipped lately. I picked up some marinated steak tips recently, and two of the pieces were so full of tendons and fat that they really should’ve been tossed as scrap rather than sold as cuts to grill. When you’re paying for quality meat, you expect it to be trimmed and ready to cook, not loaded with gristle you have to work around. I’m not writing this to bash the store β€” I genuinely want it to keep being the great spot it’s been. I just hope the team tightens up on quality control so the product matches the reputation. I’ll keep shopping here, but I’d love to see the consistency get back to where it used to be.

I have been to several Butcher's Market locations. I have had good experiences at all of them, but this one is my favorite. Today I went in for skirt steak. They don't sell skirt steak at this moment (because it is so expensive!) but they have in the past. They described other cuts/options that would work well as alternatives based on what I was using it for. Then one of the butchers cut it up for me right then. What great service! I'm pleased with what I ended up getting. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dude!!! This small butchers market is awesome. Lots of great selection and you can tell they love their craft. Highly recommend if quality is top of your concerns when it comes to meats.
